Welcome Ava and Kara!

It's 2 Girls!!

On September 9, 2010 Ava Lynn Stover was born at 9:35 am weighing 6.2 pounds and 1 minute later, Kara Joy Stover was born at 9:36 am weighing 7.2 pounds. The experience was incredible, and easily one of the most amazing days of my life. Everyone is healthy, and doing very well as we adjust to life with 2 babies! For awhile, the nights were a bit crazy, but we have now switched to what Geoff has called, man-to-man defense with them. We each take charge of one baby that way sleep is a little more successful.

The girls had a lot of visitors in the hospital from friends and family. We are so lucky to have so many people already involved in their lives! Our parents came up as well as new Aunts and Uncles Pete and Janelle, Chris and Kelly, and Sam and Hannah who drove all the way from Tennessee! We also had visits from many teachers at school and friends in Cleveland.

Ava and Kara are great babies! It is amazing how different they look and how different their personalities are. People who see us walking often ask, "how do you tell them apart?" It's pretty obvious after spending even just 1 minute with them! Ava is our little pistol...she's full of energy! She's always kicking her legs and calling out noises that always make us laugh. Kara is definitely the calm one. She will spend her time looking around and taking things in. The thing I love about Kara is that she is a snuggler!

I was very lucky having Geoff stay home with me the first week so we could jump right in to parenthood together. Geoff's great with the girls, in fact, I dont think I could take on these babies too well myself without him! Most parents take for granted that when one has the baby, the other gets a break... with us, there are very few breaks! The only down time for either of us is when the girls are asleep. Even with lack of sleep, we wouldn't change a thing!

The second and third week were wonderful, because my mom and Linda each took a week and stayed with us. Just having a third person around is such a help! We tackled the girls together during the day and then when Geoff got home, there was always someone to tackle laundry, cleaning, and cooking (which was pretty much moms the whole week!) A big THANK YOU to all the wonderful and much needed help! The other thank you goes out to all of the great people who have made us dinners (huge help!), and sent us things. I can't go to the mail anymore without some kind of little package or card for the girls. It's truly amazing how many people have thought of us.


I can't believe how fast the time is going, and how fast these 2 little sweeties are growing. I often look at them and wonder how they both ever fit in my belly! They are happy as can be and certainly enjoy being sisters!

It's been awhile since I posted! I'm sure this will be the last before the babies arrive! I just wanted to give a quick update for those wondering. As of today (8-14) I am 35 weeks along so I could pretty much go into labor at any time. I just went to the dr. yesterday and Baby A is 5.2 pounds while Baby B is 5.12 pounds. I am still feeling really great and able to get around just fine. Sleeping at night is getting a little uncomfortable but it's mostly because I get sore not because I can't sleep. As of yesterday, both babies are still breech which means I'll probably be getting a c-section unless they turn here pretty soon! However, they will not schedule one because my dr. wants me to go as long as I can carry them. She says I will just naturally go into labor if they get too big for me to handle so that means we're basically just in waiting right now. Both pics I posted are 4D ultrasound pics. It was pretty funny too because she was able to tell us Baby B had a full head of hair (I guess it was pretty easy for her to see!) Baby A is not quite in a position to tell as much. I will now be going to the dr. once a week until they arrive although my dr. is actually on vacation this upcoming week (yikes!) She told me to hold them in until she gets back but I'm thinking there's a high chance she may not deliver them! I guess we'll see. They're kicking like crazy and Geoff and I are both so anxious to meet them. I will get pics up asap once they arrive!

Vacation in Stone Harbor

Our soon to be family of 4 traveled to Stone Harbor New Jersey for our annual Louderback vacation! The weather was gorgeous and our trip pretty much consisted of sitting on the beach, eating, and sleeping! 3 great ingredients for a vacation pre-babies! My mom and I went down for a week, and then the boys joined us the following week. I did manage to swim in the ocean several times and bob around which was fantastic and just what I needed. I will be 30 weeks this Sunday and still feel really good. The only thing I've been noticing is that simple things like getting up or picking up something that falls are a little more of a challenge these days. Geoff's doing well and we're both getting pretty anxious as the time of delivery approaches!

Our Family

I wanted to create a site we could tell people to go for updates on our quickly expanding family! Geoff and I are so excited for these upcoming babies. I just went in today for another one of my many ultrasounds. We could have actually found out the sexes of the babies, but opted not to! The ultrasound pictures show that the babies heads are together which we think is so darn cute. We've registered for a lot of green, yellow, and brown things as our nursery is shaping up to take on the theme of Winnie the Pooh. I'm feeling really good these days, and it seems like those days are passing a little too quickly!
